Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, has achieved international recognition for its ‘Living Cultures of Tulunadu’ project, which has been shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026 under the Sustainability Education Literacy category.

The project, carried out under Centre for Intercultural Studies and Dialogue (CISD), MAHE, has achieved world recognition in educational innovation, emerging as one of the top applications from a pool of 2,226 submissions received for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026. The shortlisted application demonstrated exceptional innovation, impact and scalability, successfully progressing through four rigorous evaluation rounds conducted by a panel of 1,634 international higher education and edtech experts.

It recognises the project’s contribution to raising awareness and understanding of Tulunadu's cultural heritage through education and engagement. This recognition places Living Cultures of Tulunadu among the projects selected for further consideration in the Sustainability Education Literacy Award category.

Speaking about the recognition Dr. Praveen K. Shetty, Coordinator, CISD, said, “In recent years, there has been growing research into innovative approaches to education and pedagogy. At MAHE, as part of the ‘Beyond Curriculum’ learning approach, CISD has been engaged in the study of the linguistic, cultural and folk life of Tulunadu.”

Selected projects will have the opportunity to present their work to an international audience in London, including educators, academic institutions, innovators, investors, industry leaders, and potential partners.

The Innovation showcase will provide shortlisted projects with opportunities for institutional collaboration, research partnerships, investment, market access, and enhanced international visibility. The QS Reimagine Education Awards ceremony and conference will take place in London from 6 to 8 December 2026, stated a release.
